2017 S1000RR Pickup and Arrival:
We have purchased our 2017 S1000RR premium for testing and tuning research/devolopment. With a lot of rumors and speculation on the revisions to the newest S1000RR, we rolled the dice on purchasing our own so we could decide for ourselves what truly sets it apart from a 15-16 S1000RR. Before leaving the showroom we brought a measuring tape, tools and took most of it apart in front of the dealer and found a few key items that we will get into with more updates in the future.
What we found so far is the 2017 S1000RR couldn’t be any more different then we had ever imagined! Power ratings are the same yet there’s a large, restrictive exhaust and new airbox. BMW had to change the engine or computer to keep the power the same for EURO4 emissions.. or so we would hope. Unlike the 2012 gen 2 update, the exterior panels are almost exactly the same. Tank and tail appear to be identical. The lower fairing is definitely a different design and looks more like the 2010-14 models. Other than that the bike is very similar, if not identical to the 2015 as far as body panels and exterior go. However, like the 2012, the gauge cluster is new as well. So this bike is a sort of a “ying and yang”. Underneath the revised color scheme and gauge cluster, the electronics are completely revised with some new tricks. Everything else so far seems to swap right over from our 2015 model right on to the 2017.

SATISFIED CLIENTS MAKE US HAPPY
Hy i plan to buy a 2017 S1000RR and i just don’t like their exhaust. It’s wafull. Insteasd i plan to get the Arrow short version.
I was told by the Arrow dealer that probably i won’t need to ECU Flash it. I am not looking to get more power but just stay with same machine same power. That’all.
Also if i can find a new 2016 same model S1000RR i would have the same concern.
What’s your opnion on that.
Thanks for your comments , i would be greatly appreciated.
The best exhaust on the market typically comes from Akra, I can’t say that this will be the case here, but based off of previous feedback, I would assume. On the 15-16 bikes, tuning is needed to help maximize the exhaust.
Can you tell me if a arrow full comp evo system will fit and can you tune my 2017 for me
We aren’t sure yet, I’d assume but there may need to be some tweaks to make it work properly. We will be working with Akra so you may need to wait for the vendor to confirm themselves!
Definitely interested to see what you guys find in terms of figment for headers/exhaust/tuning looking to pick up a 17 within the next couple weeks and from what I can tell you guys are the only place to go for tuning!
Looking forward to joining the BMW and BrenTuning families!
Currently have 2017 S1000RR with Arrow Competition Evo Full System. I would like my bike tuned for both street/track. We run 91 Octane here in Cali. What would your recommendations be for my bike? I don’t would prefer to flash ECU or get Power Commander 5. Your literature says Brock’s ECU flash is all I need…Is that the case? It also says that Stage 2 flash is designed for full exhaust systems…Does that Include my specific pipe as well?
