BUILT ON THE FOUNDATION OF OUR ALREADY POPULAR //M+ MAPPING, STAGE 1 GOES A FEW STEPS FURTHER

BENEFITS OVER //M+
(CLICK HERE TO SEE //M+ DETAILS)

  • More Derestriction
  • Fueling
  • Ignition
  • Multiple
  • Quick Shifter
  • EGT Correction
  • Mode Limiters
  • Safety

HOW DO WE ACCOMPLISH THIS WITH STAGE 1?

MORE RESTRICTIONS REMOVED. The OEM throttle model has “soft” and “hard” limits.  The soft limits are where the 2020 S1000RR will start to close the throttle and limit torque by itself at high speed or high RPM.  We removed the top speed governor and made sure the throttle or torque isn’t limited.

MODIFIED FUELING FOR FULL TIME CLOSED LOOP AND WILL TARGET FOR PERFORMANCE (not just rideability in the //M+ flash).  The //M+ flash focuses on smooth and consistent rideability only.  It does not take peak performance into consideration.  That may sound silly given how much of an improvement the //M+ flash gives the 2020 S1000RR but on Stage 1 we decided to focus purely on performance while still taking rideability into account.  MANY hours, days, months have gone into developing the Stage 1 flash to make sure the bike is not only fast, but also reliable, smooth and consistent.  For safety we adjust the OEM wideband sensors to read +/- 35% at all times.

MODIFIED IGNITION FOR PERFORMANCE ON VARIOUS OCTANES.  The //M+ flash did not touch any of the stock ignition tables.  Stage 1 optimizes the ignition tables for performance and reliability.  The S1000RR has multiple timing tables.  Depending on fuel quality, the bike will choose more aggressive timing tables or less aggressive (if knock is present).

MR12 HORSEPOWER AND OTHER 100 OCTANE FUELING MAPS INCLUDED. One flash does it all.  Because of the adaptive ECU and OEM wideband sensors, the S1000RR is able to switch between fuels without flashing to a new map.  This means if you want to run regular 93 pump gas then switch to MR12, you do not have to change maps.  The adaptive ECU and our Stage 1 flash will account for the new fuel and change automatically to optimize performance.  The only thing the user has to do is pump the gas in the bike and ride.

MODIFIED QUICK SHIFTER TIMES FOR UP/DOWN SHIFTING “KILL” TIMES. Faster and smoother shifting for the OEM quick shifter. We made what was already good, even better.

MODIFIED EXHAUST GAS TEMPERATURE (EGT) CORRECTION MAPS. These maps typically limit performance but with our testing we are able to gain more power and keep the bike just as reliable with more consistency during racing scenarios.

SPORT MODE LIMITERS ADJUSTED. Sport mode has been adjusted to offer full power with changed traction control settings for smoother riding.

SERVICE BULLETIN UPDATED SAFETY MAPS ADDED. Early S1000RR’s had incorrect ignition timing from the factory.  This was only at high RPM but it could result in knock (preignition of fuel in the combustion chamber).  As a result BMW issued a service bulletin and software update to rectify this issue.  We made sure to include this in our mapping while still maintaining a high level of performance and reliability.

DYNO PROVEN

Green = Stage 1 with MR12 Race Fuel
Blue = Stage 1 with 93 Pump Gas
Red = Baseline with 93 Pump Gas

Keep in mind the baseline includes full Akrapovic Exhaust, a Sprint high-flow air filter, IAT relocation, and modified airbox flappers.  Without these modifications the baseline would be lower.  The only thing we changed from run to run was flashing the S1000RR and adding MR12 race fuel for the final run.  We are seeing more than a 5% gain in power just from the flash on a 2020 S1000RR that is already full bolt-on.

**All runs performed same day, back to back on our in-house DynoJet**

**Testing performed with 93 octane pump gas. Usage of a lower octane will yield smaller power gains.**

WHY UPGRADE FROM OUR //M+ FLASH TO STAGE 1?

Motonosity walks us through how our new diagnostic tool works and a brief summary of the Stage 1 upgrade and how it feels compared to the //M+ Flash.  For the full video review, see Motonosity’s YouTube page BY CLICKING HERE.

REAL WORLD RESULTS

“MaxWrist” decided to try our flash and from the video you can tell he’s very happy with shaving almost a full second off his 60-130mph times (Dragy verified).

EJR Performance took our BrenTuning Moto 2020 S1000RR out for some racing and found a Ducati V4.  With the Akrapovic exhaust, the Ducati V4 makes an advertised 226hp!  The Duacti was also flashed as well to make maximum power.  You can see how our Stage 1 S1000RR does more than just hold its own against the Italian super bike.  They also found a built motor Busa, a Ninja and a very fast GSXR.

THE BRENTUNING MOTO HANDHELD TUNER

WHAT IS A HANDHELD TUNER AND WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF HAVING ONE?

Thoroughly tested by our own engineers, not just for its function but also durability.  We purposefully dropped this thing about 100 times just to make sure if you accidentally dropped it, it would still be a usable device.

So why buy it when you can just send in your ECU for flashing and spend less? Let’s see the breakdown.

NO DOWNTIME – No need to send in your ECU or remove it from your bike at all.  You order the handheld, it get’s delivered to you, you flash your bike.  You never miss a day of riding and no effort removing the ECU.

STORE MULTIPLE MAPS – When you send in your ECU, you only get one map.  You might be thinking, “why would I need more than one map?”.  Storing multiple maps means you’re able to flash for different fuels.  If you’re a serious track competitor, we can work with you to get you different mapping for different tracks.  If, for example, you’re add an exhaust to your stock bike, we can email you a file that takes the new exhaust into account with the changes you need to optimize your bike’s new modifications.

GO BACK TO STOCK ANYTIME – Not only can you store multiple race maps, you can also flash the original, stock file back into the bike at any time and for any reason.

  • “ Bike is running awesome and no out of the ordinary popping under load during downshifts at high rpm. My hats off to your team for making me feel like I have a personal tuner at my disposal. Really appreciate the quick turnaround to get me straight. I can definitely feel the extra power! ”

    Andy Young - Maryland Aug 28, 2018
  • “ This product is amazing.  I feel like I have a better version of my bike.  Like it should have come this way.  The throttle smoothness and even power band make it a joy to ride.  I no longer feel as if I'm riding a wild bronco lol. Thank you again, I didn't think that a L-twin could behave this well.  Also, your customer service is the best.  I could always reach you by email or phone.  I will tell everyone I know about this fantastic addition.  Keep up the great work, guys! ”

  • “ Purchased the tune for my 2015 BMW S1000RR. Was skeptical at first and initially had a bunch of questions. Chris was very patient with me and answered them all. Had some problems after receiving my ecu back and Chris was very helpful in getting all my issues worked out. Bike runs fantastic. Definitely worth it. Thank you again guys for dealing with my questions and taking care of everything before and after the purchase. Fantastic customer service. ”

  • “ After doing some research it was obvious that Brentuning was the best option for tuning of my S1000RR. I wont go into details but after multiple overnighting of parts to me at no additional charge, I'm really impressed and satisfied with the end result and I haven't even tried out my race fuel tune yet! To top if off I received a random care package of goodies from Chris today. The customer service at Brentuning is probably the best I've received from any business I've dealt with. Their email response times are unreal as well, lol. Literally sometimes instantly, kinda weird. lol. I would recommend any and everyone to Brentuning for your S1000RR tuning solution. If anyone has any questions or are hesitant before purchasing, feel free to shoot me a message and I'll help / assist / give you a more detailed opinion on my experience as well. ”

  • “ I have the Bren Tuning ECU flash on my 2015 BMW S1000RR and it is unbelievable how fast this bike is. This tune is the best thing I got for my bikes. I have also did the Bren Tune for my 2014 BMW S1000r for which it just made this bike really nice. Bren Tuning is the best. ”
