MORE POWER

Gain 10whp and 7wtq over our already robust Stage 1 flash.  Stage 2 is designed for 93 octane but will run just fine with 91. (See ignition advance below for explanation)

 

GOES BEYOND JUST REMOVING RESTRICTIONS

Stage 1 was derestricting the K1600.  Stage 2 is optimized for best performance at all times without sacrificing reliability or rideability.  We left no stone unturned in our Stage 2 development and spent hours, days, and months to perfect Stage 2 with our R&D.

 

FUELING

The air/fuel ratio has been carefully measured in testing with the other changes we’ve made optimizes your K1600 for peak performance and reliability.

 

IGNITION ADVANCE

The K1600 has multiple ignition maps (timing maps).  The point to this is to ensure your bike runs at peak performance and reliablity, even when bad fuel is present.  Bad fuel would be defined as a fuel that has lower than advertised octane, old fuel that’s been sitting in the bike that has now going bad, or a forgetful user that just pumped incorrect octane fuel at the gas station.  With our extensive R&D process we’ve been able to optimize each ignition map to not only add more power to your K1600, but also make sure that if bad fuel is present, the motorcycle will still maintain it’s reliability.

 

LOWER FAN-ON TEMP

In an effort to cool the engine down more, we have lowered the temperature in which the radiator fans come on.  This keeps your bike cooler and more consistent with power.

 

TORQUE TABLES

Torque limit tables in dynamic mode have all been raised to give you maximum performance.

 

EGT TABLES

We changed the EGT (exhaust gas temperatures) tables for maximum performance. Expect large increases in low-end and mid-range throttle response through 100% direct throttle opening in dynamic mode.

 

AFTERMARKET EXHAUST MAPPING

After testing, we have mapping available for aftermarket exhaust systems.  We support the stock system, of course, as well as Remus and Akrapovic Systems.

WHAT IS A HANDHELD TUNER AND WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF HAVING ONE?

 

We start with our popular OBDII Flasher+ and fully customize it.  Thoroughly tested by our own engineers, not just for its function but also durability.  We purposefully dropped this thing about 100 times just to make sure if you accidentally dropped it, it would still be a usable device.

 

So why buy it when you can just send in your ECU for flashing and spend less?

Let’s see the breakdown.

 

NO DOWNTIME – No need to send in your ECU or remove it from your bike at all.  You order the handheld, it get’s delivered to you, you flash your bike.  You never miss a day of riding and no effort removing the ECU.

STORE MULTIPLE MAPS – When you send in your ECU, you only get one map.  You might be thinking, “why would I need more than one map?”.  Storing multiple maps means you’re able to flash for different fuels.  If you’re a serious track competitor, we can work with you to get you different mapping for different tracks.  If, for example, you’re add an exhaust to your stock bike, we can email you a file that takes the new exhaust into account with the changes you need to optimize your S1000RR’s new modifications.

GO BACK TO STOCK ANYTIME – Not only can you store multiple race maps, you can also flash the original, stock file back into the bike at any time and for any reason.

READ AND CLEAR ENGINE CODES – If for some reason you have a check engine light, you’re able to plug in our handheld tuner and read the codes from it.  Using the codes you’re able to determine the issue with the bike.  Sometimes these codes make the Check Engine Light come on.  Even after the issue is fixed the check engine light can stay on for a dealer to clear or stay on for a certain amount of key cycles.  The handheld can clear these codes.  As long as the issue is fixed, the handheld will eliminate the check engine light.


 

STAGE 1

The BrenTuning Stage 1 Flash K1600B/GA/GT/GTL is the single best modification you can do to the motorcycle! Make the bike the one you have always dreamed of, with better ridability, power and throttle response. No more dead spots, no more weak throttle response!

All of this is available from the comfort of your own home with no need to remove the ECU and send in. Our popular handheld tuner allows us to tune the motorcycle for you from the comfort of your own garage. No dyno is necessary, we have mapping available for all of the popular exhaust and modification sets along with all different fuel octanes. A windows based computer is required but only basic knowledge and understanding is needed. Simple software and instructions will be provided to you.

The 2014+ have multiple torque limiters that starts to taper lower after 5500 rpm (mimicking the factory hp chart). BMW adjusts them all differently from the 2014 motor. This can be set to 100% power. Below the graph shows one of the available software versions which is HEAVILY restricted from the factory, this is same day back to back testing from the OEM restricted file to our tuned file.

 

As you can see in the software screenshots below, the ECU is only commanding a fraction of what the engine is capable of outputting.  There are many reasons for this that may include sound regulations, emissions regulations, EU4 compliance, etc.  Our flash completely eliminates those restrictions without compromising rideability or the reliability of your motorcycle.

 

Check out this 3D throttle map overlay for stock vs flashed.  The yellow/orange sheet on top represents a flashed motorcycle throttle request in the software.  The blue and green under that represent the stock throttle request.

 

We have mapping for octanes from 87 to 93 based off ignition and fuel testing. 91+ works best from our testing.

For our customers worried about warranty, we heard you loud and clear. With our handheld tuning device, you simply revert the motorcycle back to the original file and bring it in for your dealer visit, no detection of the tune can be found! This will trigger the flash counter. A flash number in the single digits is fine, excessive flashing may be cause for concern at your dealer. For the most warranty friendly option, please consider our ECU mail in option.

 

How it works:

 

You will order from the link above, we will send you instructions and once you receive the handheld tuning device, simply connect to the OBD2 port. After doing so, you will plug the same device into your computer, open our software and download the data you just extracted from the motorcycle. Send that to us via Email and keep an eye on your inbox for a set of questions we will send back. Once we receive that we will create a tuned file for your motorcycle within 48 hours M-F. Load the tuned file to the handheld via the upload button in our software and then back to the bike we go. Click on tuning and select the labeled map for fuel quality that you want to run. Upload to the bike and you are done. The device can be removed and stored until needed in the future.

 

In regards to questions pertaining to riding modes: All riding modes still work as designed, all will have the throttle improvements that we have implemented. Dynamic mode will still be what you want to use for maximum performance and power.

**** Our handheld tuning device requires the use of a windows based computer. The handheld and the computer never need to be next to each other and the software is non-invasive. This means a desktop or work computer should be just fine. The file download for the software is around 60MB which you will have to download from the internet. If you do not have access to a windows computer, the internet or are not proficient with a computer and downloading / uploading things from the internet, please consider out mail in ECU tuning service. ****

**** Two fuel options/maps are available with your purchase, we can do a low octane and high octane option, if you have additional requests they can be included at an additional $100/per map fee, this can cover additional fuel qualities or modification sets. ****

**** Please for best results, make sure your motorcycle has been updated at the dealer to newest software available before purchase. If the bike is under warranty, this will be a free update. If the bike is out of warranty they will charge (1) hour labor to do this. This will avoid any issues with future updates (for the most part) and avoid us having to remap the bike for new software. A $100 remap fee will be charged for new mapping after a dealer updates your ECU. Please always put the handheld back to stock before bringing to the dealer for any updates, to avoid unlocking charges on the handheld. ****
