Product Description

Through careful testing of the Stock ECU and Aprilia Race ECU calibrations, we were able to find 32 power maps and limiters holding back the otherwise stout 100HP powerplant. While the Tuono version is rated for 94HP, the final tuned number will be the same as the RS 660. That means bigger gains for the Tuono as it’s more restricted than the RS 660.

With full in-person datalogging in our closed dyno cell, riding the bike on the street, and GPS speed testing, we were able to find what the engine really liked and disliked. Through careful logging of ignition timing, per cylinder fueling and thermal management limiters, we were able to write an excellent file that is powerful in all temperatures and covers all octanes. The engine can be exciting when the top end has been calibrated correctly. After reviewing the stock and Race ECU data, we were able to determine some impressive improvements could be found with time invested. We were able to get larger gains under the curve and top-end improvements on pump gas. Check out the same day testing (look below) of Racing ECU vs BT 91.

Our Stage 1 Aprilia RS 660 ECU flash converts the bike to full “Alpha-N” fueling and utilizes the factory oxygen sensors for precise fuel corrections on and off throttle. Improvements in throttle response, rideability, cruising and of course, power, were all immediately apparent. 60-130MPH testing found a full second improvement from stock to flashed.

  • On average, gains of 3HP peak, over stock and MORE for Tuono
  • Two thousand RPM more peak power over stock to carry to redline (dyno below)
  • Early Fan-On. At 200 degrees, your Aprilia starts to pull power from the engine. We change this to lower temperature to avoid this power loss and stalling in stop and go traffic
  • Changes to fueling including part, mid and full-throttle while in Alpha-N configuration per cylinder
  • Optimization of ignition timing at part and mid throttle for all fuel qualities
  • Adjustments to torque limiting to allow the bike to make 100% of its available engine torque at high load
  • RPM limiter raised from 11,500RPM to 12,200RPM
  • Adjustments to engine braking For road course use
  • Changes in factory unstable engine idle for stability and consistency off-throttle
  • Changes to a full 100% throttle opening in all modes, versus a limited table
  • Gains midrange to redline on all fuel qualities with no loss in power anywhere on the RPM band
  • Changes to ABS, DTC, and wheelie intervention for more available power and control for a performance oriented rider
  • Corsa ECU base upgrades are standard and included
  • Enabled turn signals in headlight LED’s

Dyno Testing

The dyno results below are from a 2021 Aprilia RS 660 tested in Southern California. The bike was running 91 octane pump gas. You can see gains through the midrange that progresses more and more up top.  You can see there’s an extra two thousand RPM where the bike is carrying A LOT more power than the stock mapping. No changes were made to this bike other than flashing it with Stage 1. Results tested same day, same dyno, back to back. Keep in mind the Tuono version will see larger gains as it is more restricted than the RS 660.

BT Moto Stage 1, 91 Pump Gas: 94WHP/ 49WTQ

RS 660 Dyno

The below dyno is a popular UpMap vs our Stage 1 tuning. You can see the UpMap actually makes less power than stock, but also extends the RPM more than stock as well. We were a little baffled how the UpMap made less peak power than stock.

Thoroughly tested by our own engineers, not just for its function but also durability.  We purposefully dropped this thing about 100 times just to make sure if you accidentally dropped it, it would still be a usable device.

So why buy it when you can just send in your ECU for flashing and spend less? Let’s see the breakdown.

NO DOWNTIME – No need to send in your ECU or remove it from your bike at all.  You order the handheld, it get’s delivered to you, you flash your bike.  You never miss a day of riding and no effort removing the ECU.

STORE MULTIPLE MAPS – When you send in your ECU, you only get one map.  You might be thinking, “why would I need more than one map?”.  Storing multiple maps means you’re able to flash for different fuels.  If you’re a serious track competitor, we can work with you to get you different mapping for different tracks.  If, for example, you’re add an exhaust to your stock bike, we can email you a file that takes the new exhaust into account with the changes you need to optimize your bike’s new modifications.

GO BACK TO STOCK ANYTIME – Not only can you store multiple race maps, you can also flash the original, stock file back into the bike at any time and for any reason.

  • “ This product is amazing.  I feel like I have a better version of my bike.  Like it should have come this way.  The throttle smoothness and even power band make it a joy to ride.  I no longer feel as if I'm riding a wild bronco lol. Thank you again, I didn't think that a L-twin could behave this well.  Also, your customer service is the best.  I could always reach you by email or phone.  I will tell everyone I know about this fantastic addition.  Keep up the great work, guys! ”

  • “ After doing some research it was obvious that BT Moto was the best option for tuning of my S1000RR. I wont go into details but after multiple overnighting of parts to me at no additional charge, I'm really impressed and satisfied with the end result and I haven't even tried out my race fuel tune yet! To top if off I received a random care package of goodies from Chris today. The customer service at BT Moto is probably the best I've received from any business I've dealt with. Their email response times are unreal as well, lol. Literally sometimes instantly, kinda weird. lol. I would recommend any and everyone to BT Moto for your S1000RR tuning solution. If anyone has any questions or are hesitant before purchasing, feel free to shoot me a message and I'll help / assist / give you a more detailed opinion on my experience as well. ”

  • “ I have the Bren Tuning ECU flash on my 2015 BMW S1000RR and it is unbelievable how fast this bike is. This tune is the best thing I got for my bikes. I have also did the Bren Tune for my 2014 BMW S1000r for which it just made this bike really nice. Bren Tuning is the best. ”
