Tune/Diagnose/Service your OWN Aprilia RSV4/Tuono with our new handheld device by BrenTuning Moto! More than just a tune, this device will transform your riding and ownership experience.
Through careful testing of the stock and Race ECU calibration we were able to find 22 power maps and limiters holding back the otherwise stout powerplant. Our Stage1 RSV4/Tuono ECU flash converts the bike to full alpha-N fueling, and utilizes the factory 02 for precise fuel corrections on and off throttle.
Benefits:
-Changes to fuel part, mid and full throttle while in AlphaN configuration
-Optimization of ignition timing at part and mid throttle for all fuel qualities 91/93+MR12).
-Adjusts to torque limiting to allow bike to make 100% of it’s available engine torque
-Changes to rev limiter per gear tables for widest possible and safe powerband (optional)
-Aggressive adjustments to engine braking, and decel fueling for road course use.
-Changes in factory unstable engine idle for stability and consistency off throttle.
-Changes to a full 100% throttle opening in all modes, verses a limited table, Receive 100% throttle sooner in the powerband as well for added torque and response in the midrange.
-Gains throughout the whole curve on all fuel qualities (most available on race fuel)
-Changes to ABS, DTC, and wheelie intervention for more available power and control for a performance oriented rider.
Huge improvements have been found on our in-house Mustang MD500 Dyno. On average, gains of 14HP on the RSV4 were found over the stock Race ECU baseline on a typical bolt-on bike on 93 octane. Gains on the Tuono anywhere from 9-12HP with the help of an extended rev limiter which allows you to carry the power further. All testing done in house on 93 octane pump fuel.
Improvements in throttle response, ride-ability, cruising and of course, POWER were all immediately apparent. Limiters raised for racing and road course use and power.
Our handheld tuning device is easy to use and allows you to tune your motorcycle from anywhere in the world! You can choose from Race ECU, to Original OEM tune, pump and race fuels for most exhaust systems in your tablet handheld. Most importantly you can re-calibrate the TPS for service, read and clear DTC trouble codes or unplugging the battery for winter without visiting the dealer. No need to mail your expense and delicate Aprilia ECU across the world for a blanket canned tune without the ability to recalibrate the TPS after. We offer in-house custom dyno tuning as well.
In addition to lambda and ridability stuff, the throttle is capped at 81% even when being held wide open. Also on the RACE ECU and lambda is 10.0 AFR at peak torque which actually maxed out our wideband on the dyno. There are torque limiters in place as well which we remove. In terms of timing, we are only adding 3* or so which is well beyond the knock threshold, we do not modify knock sensor sensitivity in any way.
In terms of numbers, we use the same load bearing Mustang MD500 as we do for all of our development. It is a load bearing dyno which allows for smooth graphs/AFR which simulates a rolling road. The bike averaged 165WHP on the race ECU with the highest run being 170WHP, we used the 170WHP number as the baseline to show the best and most accurate delta. In terms of final numbers, the bike also made 187WHP max, but for the sake of argument, threw that number out and used the lowest tuned run of 184WHP. This net us a 14WHP gain on 93 octane pump gas.
At the end of the day we are trying to simply fill a void in this market, we aren’t necessarily Aprilia people (although the more time we spend with them the more we like them), but we are ECU logic and power production people, two things we have done very well in many different markets. The first few days with the bike we were actually making LESS power than the Race ECU baseline, but after careful tweaks and a bunch of hours on the dyno, we ended up with the result seen here.
